A piece of
cinema history.
The Wurlitzer cinema organ in Pollokshaws Burgh Hall's ballroom was built in 1937 for the Ritz Cinema in Stockport (UK). Initially designed to accompany silent films, cinema organs later entertained audiences before and after screenings and became popular radio broadcast features. The Scottish Cinema Organ Trust maintains this historic instrument and frequently programmes concerts, silent films, dances, and more featuring the Wurlitzer.
