Join us for a very special big-screen presentation of Charlie Chaplin’s Modern Times, (1936) accompanied LIVE on the magnificent Pollokshaws Wurlitzer organby one of the UK’s finest theatre organists, Iain McGlinchey.

Chaplin’s much-loved 1936 masterpiece is funny, touching, romantic and as irresistible today as when audiences first fell in love with the Little Tramp. From its brilliantly choreographed factory-floor chaos to its wonderfully tender moments, Modern Times finds Chaplin trying to make his way through an increasingly frantic modern world – and, along the way, finding companionship and love.

And for this screening, the magic won’t just be on the screen.

Iain McGlinchey will accompany the film live on the Pollokshaws Wurlitzer, creating the music in the great tradition of the cinema organists who once brought the silent screen to life. With the Wurlitzer capable of everything from the gentlest romantic melody to the sound and excitement of an entire orchestra, no two live accompaniments are ever quite the same.

It’s cinema as generations before us experienced it: a great film, a majestic theatre organ and a musician performing live to every moment on screen.
