Celebrating a multi-decade career, from the golden age of the cinema to the excitement of ice-rink accompaniment on the Wurlitzer!
Join us at Pollokshaws Burgh Hall on August 16, 2026 at 2:30 PM for a truly special event celebrating the remarkable multi-decade career of David Lowe! From the golden age of cinema to the thrilling experience of ice-rink accompaniment, this concert promises an unforgettable journey through time and sound.
David Lowe will be playing the Pollokshaws Wurlitzer, an instrument which started its life in the Ritz Cinema, Stockport, in 1937 and is now installed in Pollokshaws Burgh Hall. A cinema organ is not like you're average church organ, as it features all the bells and whistles (literally!) of the orchestra and a range of sound effects. You have to hear and feel it for yourself!
Don’t miss this vibrant tribute to a legendary artist whose music has enchanted audiences across generations!
This event is promoted by the Scottish Cinema Organ Trust.
